The suspect who set fire to an army bus during a protest in Mirihana on March 31 has been arrested in Deraniyagala today by a team of CID officers.
This victim is a 42-year-old man working in a private car parts dealership in Wijerama, Gangodawila.
The bus set on fire by this man during the protest in Mirihana had destroyed a police three-wheeler and two motorcycles parked nearby.
The Police Media Spokesman’s Office stated that the arrest of the suspect was based on information provided by the public through photographs and videos released to the media. The Police Headquarters also expresses their gratitude to the public in this regard.
