It has been decided to hold a special party leadership meeting which was cancelled and scheduled to be held today (11).

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena says that it was decided to hold this event at least online depending on the current situation in the country.
Accordingly, the meeting is scheduled to be held at 3.00 pm today.
Following the resignation of the Prime Minister and his Cabinet, the no-confidence motion against the government will automatically be annulled.
However, a no-confidence motion has been filed against the President and it is reported that steps will be taken to include that breach of trust in the agenda as a motion.
The party leadership had earlier decided to cancel the meeting due to the inability to ensure the safety of the MPs.
