The Public Utilities Commission has recommended to the Ministry of Education to grant school holidays before the due date.
The chairman of the commission Janaka Ratnayake stated that these recommendations were made due to the current fuel shortage and power crisis.
Accordingly, it has been recommended that the New Year school holidays scheduled to be granted next Friday (08) be effective from next Monday (04).
