The government will set up 196 new police stations in the country to beef up public security .
This transpired at the parliamentary consultative committee meeting of the defence ministry in Parliament . It was chaired by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Bedsides , 10,000 youths will be recruited to the police service.
