The Secretary to the President has issued a gazette notification yesterday stating that G. L. Peiris has resigned from the post of Foreign Minister.
It is effective from the 23rd of this month.
However, the Gazette states that Mr. G. L. Peiris will be appointed as the new Minister of External Affairs from tomorrow.
