Today is the 158th Police Heroes’ Day.
Commemoration ceremonies were held in several places in the island today in memory of the police heroes who laid down their lives while on duty.
A ceremony to commemorate the 158th Police Heroes’ Day was held on the 21st (today) at the SSP’s office in Chilaw.
The ceremony was presided over by Chilaw SSP Lalith Rohana Gamage.
Police officers and relatives of the fallen war heroes paid floral tributes to the war heroes’ memorial erected in front of the SP’s office.
Senior officers of the Chilaw Police Division were also present at the occasion.
