    Another death at a Mirigama fuel queue

    A man who was preparing to return from a queue this morning from a filling station in Mirigama has fallen and died while being admitted to the hospital.

    The Mirigama Police stated that the victim was a 76-year-old resident of Mirigama.

    Police say that the man who had arrived at the petrol station with his nephew in a three-wheeler was filling fuel into a three-wheeler and a barrel and had fallen while loading it into the three-wheeler. A police sergeant who was deployed to guard the petrol station had immediately intervened and admitted the man to the Mirigama Hospital. Police say that he is a heart patient.

    Police say there was no long queue at the gas station at the time of the incident.

    A person who was waiting in a kerosene queue at a filling station in Kandy as well as a person who was waiting in a queue at a petrol station in Kadawatha have also died yesterday.
