The Ministry of Technology says that telephone companies have increased international call charges as the rupee has depreciated by about 30 percent against the dollar.
Secretary to the Ministry, Jayantha de Silva stated that the telephone companies have informed the Ministry about this.
However, no approval has been given to increase local call or internet charges, said the secretary of the Ministry of Technology.
