An Egyptian national who was traveling on the footboard of the Udarata Manike train traveling from Colombo to Badulla has fallen off from the train near Pattipola railway station and died while receiving treatment.
The accident took place yesterday (16).
The deceased has been identified as Ahmed Abdul Hameed, an Egyptian of age 32.
This tourist had arrived in Sri Lanka about a week ago with a group of friends for a visit. This is his first visit to Sri Lanka.
The tourist was first admitted to the Nuwara Eliya Hospital. His friends rushed him to a private hospital in Colombo and died while receiving treatment in that hospital.
