62 students of Athimale National School and 3 teachers including the principal have been admitted to the Athimale Hospital following a wasp attack.
An Athimale police officer said that a part of the wasp hive attached to the roof of the school’s main administration building had collapsed this morning.
A large number of students have been attacked by wasps and the school was closed today after discussions with the education authorities in view of the dangerous situation, the official said.
He added that a team of wildlife officials would arrive tonight to remove the wasp from the roof and that the school would continue as usual from tomorrow after it is removed.
