Local and foreign tourists are not allowed to enter the Ellawala Falls in Wallawaya until further notice.
The ban was imposed by the Wellawaya Pradeshiya Sabha.
Wellawaya Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Mr. R. D. Haramanis said the move was taken in view of the 13 deaths that had occurred within a short time period due to bathing after visiting the fall.
The deaths occurred within less than six months.
