Colombo High Court Judge Amal Ranaraja today ordered the Attorney General to hear the case March 23 onwards which was filed against former parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra in connection with the abduction and assault of a youth by a Defendant in Dematagoda.
On December 21, 2015, a young man by the name of Amila Priyankara was abducted while working in a clothing store near Mahawila Park in Dematagoda.
Seven supporters of Hirunika Premachandra had pleaded guilty before the Colombo High Court and were sentenced to two years imprisonment with hard labor ordered a suspended sentence for 12 years.
