The IGP has recommended to the Ministry of Public Security the name of SSP Kavinda Piyasekara in charge of the Kuliyapitiya Division as the new Director of the CID.
Kavinda Piyasekera, who had served in the Central Anti-Corruption Brigade and the CID in Walana, also served as the Director of the Tourist Police Division.
Mr. Kavinda Piyasekera, who is well known as a quiet figure in the Sri Lanka Police, is well known in the police as a skilled investigator.
