The 8-month-old baby has died in a three-wheeler accident in the Badulla area yesterday morning. Baby’s mother was driving it.
Police say the baby was in the hands of a 17-year-old boy in the back seat at the time of the accident.
The three-wheeler had overturned after losing control from the driver on the Badulla Passara road in the Badulla Police Division between the 129-130 km post.
The baby in the three-wheeler has died on admission to the Badulla Hospital with serious injuries. The deceased has been identified as an 08-month-old baby from the Pelgahatenna area.
The three-wheeler involved in the accident was traveling from Passara to Badulla.
The body is being kept at the Badulla Hospital morgue.
Badulla Police are conducting further investigations.
