The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has taken steps to increase the number of trains and buses to facilitate the commencement of schools from today and all public servants reporting for office work.
The Sri Lanka Transport Board says it expects to increase the number of buses to 5200.
At present there are about 4200 buses operating.
Several buses are being repaired.
The process of rehabilitating the buses has been streamlined and it is expected that 5,200 such buses will be fully deployed in the near future.
