SLMA requests to do a PCR test on every tourist entering SL

The Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA) has requested the Covid Suppression Committee to make sure that all tourists visiting Sri Lanka undergo PCR tests at the Katunayake Airport.

Dr. Padma Gunaratne, President of the Sri Lanka Medical Association, said that if this was not done, the entry of the omicron virus into Sri Lanka could not be prevented.

The current system is to release tourists who have received both vaccinations at the Katunayake Airport without PCR testing.

The Medical Association of Sri Lanka (MCSL) has recommended to the Covid Suppression Committee that all tourists visiting Sri Lanka be subjected to mandatory PCR testing as a precautionary measure against the entry of the omicron virus into Sri Lanka.
