Sri Lanka Cricket confirms that seven Sri Lankan women cricketers have tested positive for COVID-19.
Although the team went to Zimbabwe for the 2021 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup qualifiers, the matches were abandoned due to unfounded suspicions about the omicron virus in the African region.
The tournament was scheduled to run until December 5.
The match between Sri Lanka and the West Indies in Zimbabwe in Harare was also canceled due to the spread of the Omicron Covid virus in the African region.
