An explosion with a gas leak has taken place in the kitchen of a house in Hokandara this morning.
The homeowner is a teacher at a leading school in Colombo.
Kottawa Police stated that the gas tank had withdrawn from the regulator and the tank rocketed upwards, smashing the ceiling and hitting the roof, causing extensive damage to the kitchen.
The blasts took place recently at a small hotel in Midigama and at a McDonald’s restaurant in Colombo 07, causing great damage. Although there were fires with explosions in previous blasts, no fire was started in the Hokandara house.
