Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella says that the booster dose of Covid-19 will be given to those over 20 years of age soon.
The Minister of Health said that the date will be announced soon.
The booster dose is currently being given to people over 60 years of age.
Although any covid vaccine has been given as the first and second dose, it has been decided to give the Pfizer vaccine as the booster dose locally.
The move comes after local experts decided that the Pfizer vaccine should be given as the third dose for each vaccine.
