Ranjan Madugalle became the first person to officiate 200 Test matches in the world after the International Cricket Council gave him this opportunity.
Madugalle started his career as a Test referee in the 1993 Test between Pakistan and Zimbabwe.
Ranjan Madugalle, who is currently 62 years old, was also the referee for the recently concluded Twenty20 World Cup final.
Ranjan Madugalle, who has played 21 Tests for Sri Lanka and has captained the Sri Lankan team on two occasions. He also captained Sri Lanka in 13 ODIs out of 63 ODIs he played.
The referee closest to Mr. Madugalle’s record is Chris Broad. He has so far officiated 112 Test matches.
However, cricket critics say that it will be difficult for Ranjan Madugalle’s record to be achieved even for Chris Board.
