Another Delta subspecies has been identified in Sri Lanka.
Dr. Chandima Jeewandara of the Department of Anthropology and Molecular Studies, University of Sri Jayewardenepura states that B.1.617.2.104 has been identified as another subspecies in Sri Lanka.
This is in addition to the Delta subspecies B.1.617.2.28 previously identified in Sri Lanka.
