A proposal made by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as the Minister of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, and Minister of Industry Wimal Weerawansa, to register the film industry as an industry so that the local film industry can gain international recognition, was approved by the Cabinet.
