Merck’s Covid Capsule is approved in Sri Lanka

The capsules introduced by the UK company – Merck for the control of Covid have been approved by the Technical Committee on Drugs in Sri Lanka.

This has been confirmed by the Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena.

He was speaking at a press conference on Covid-19 today (15).

Molnupiravir, a drug introduced by Merck to control Covid, is currently under testing stages.

But experts say the initial results are successful.

It is said that when the correct dose is given to people diagnosed with Covid, their hospitalization and death rates can be reduced by about half.

Medical experts say that if these drugs are successful, the fight against corona could be successful.

Many countries, including Australia, South Korea and Malaysia, have placed orders for the drug.
