Colombo Chief Magistrate Buddhika Sri Ragala today issued warrants for the arrest of former parliamentarians Weerakumara Dissanayake, Piyasiri Wijenayake and former provincial councilor Roger Seneviratne.
The warrants were issued for not showing in court in connection with a case filed against them for blocking Bauddhaloka Mawatha and Havelock Road in a manner that would cause public distress on the day (February 6, 2016) UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Prince Seyed Rad Al Hussein paid a visit to Sri Lanka.
The magistrate ordered the case to be taken up again on March 07 next year.
