“There are two groups of people who speak out against me. One group is those who do not know how the last two years have gone. The other group is those who have asked me for a change.” Says President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
He was addressing the “Manpeth Wiplawaya” program that intends to complete 1500 roads and hands them over to the people.
“I was sworn in as President in November. In December, an epidemic broke out around the world. It was an epidemic unknown to anyone. The economy of not only our country but also the world had to collapse due to it. The first group is those who talk like they don’t know it. The other was those who asked me for a change. It hurts some people when that changeable revolution is happening.”
The inaugural ceremony of the opening of 1,500 roads to the public on the same day under the project of carpeting 100,000 km of roads was held at the Weeraketiya Mandaduwa Stadium under the patronage of the President with the participation of the Prime Minister, Ministers and the Vice President of the World Bank.
