The agitation against the sale of national resources is being held by Oil, Ports and Electricity Joint Trade Unions in front of the Port, Kolonnawa Oil Tanks and Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery. All employees of the Ceylon Electricity Board gather at the CEB headquarters. We clearly told the government that there is no strike today. All workers are protesting, while power plants and breakdown workers are in place for their duty. “
Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Chairman Mr. M. M. C. Ferdinando said that it would be a violation of the employment contract if the employees who are participating in the protest despite the orders from the administration, did not join the emergency maintenance work.
