Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa says that governments and the other oppositions have always been involved in politics but the Samagi Jana Balawega has chosen the national service instead.
He said that this country can only be built through a mixed economy and that the whole country has been devastated due to a serious mistake in the current economic system. He mentioned this while participating in the donation of hospital equipment worth Rs. 2,016,000 to the Avissawella Hospital as the 33rd Phase of the ‘Jana Suwaya’ CSR Program.
The donation was made in memory of the late president Sir J. R. Jayewardene whose commemoration was on yesterday (01).
Samagi Jana Balawega launched the “Samagi Jana Balawegayen Husmak” program with the aim of donating essential equipment to hospitals. Simultaneously, it is launched as a concept of the Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa with the aim of creating a healthy country.
Accordingly, 4 Infusion Pump Machines (105,000 x 4 = 420,000), 4 Syringe Pump Machines (104,000 x 4 = 416,000), 4 Multipara Monitor Machines (295,000 x 4 = Total 2,016,000) was donated to the Deputy Director of the Hospital, Mr. Esanda Wellala.
The grandson of the late President JR Jayewardene, the Colombo East Organizer of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Municipal Councilor Pradeep Jayawardena, the Chief Organizer of the Avissawella Samagi Jana Balawega, Gayan Kodithuwakku, the former Provincial Councilor Leonard Karunaratne, several representatives of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya Gampaha District Organizer were present at the occasion.
The Leader of the Opposition said that hospital equipment would be donated to the Avissawella Hospital in memory of J. R. Jayewardene, the pioneer of prosperity in the country, adding that such donations have been made in 33 stages so far.
He said that the ministers who bragged about their heroism were on their knees near the embassies and even the People’s Bank is in a serious crisis.
The Leader of the Opposition said that the government was inciting racism while queues including milk powder queues and gas queues were emerging all over the country.
He also said that one country, one law should not be used to create great unrest in the country, but to create the right of everyone to live freely in this country.
Earlier, donations worth of Rs. 97,234,000 (Rs. 972 lakhs) were made in 32 phases of the ‘Samagi Janabalawegayen Husmak’ program.
