A group of senior officials including the Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation are scheduled to meet Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila this evening.
It is said that this discussion is being held regarding the fuel prices of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
Sumith Wijesinghe, Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has stated that the (CPC) needs relief from the General Treasury if fuel prices do not increase in the face of continuous losses incurred due to the increase in fuel prices in the world market.
Sources said that the final decision of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation regarding fuel prices will be taken after today’s discussion.
