The Teachers’ and Principals’ Trade Union Alliance alleges that politicians and OICs are pressuring principals demanding the school keys.
Joseph Stalin, secretary of the Ceylon Teachers’ Union, said that the teachers’ and principals’ union had decided not to give the keys to the schools to the police or a politician unless the zonal director of education made a written request.
Mr. Stalin said the keys could not be handed over to a third party because the principal was responsible for all the physical resources in the schools.
