    CEB Engineer’s Union has divided

The Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers’ Union, one of the most powerful trade unions in Sri Lanka, has split.

A new trade union has been registered under the name of CEB Senior Electrical Engineer’s Union and engineers with more than 15 years of service have been given membership in the new trade union.

According to CEB sources, the new CEB has been formed due to policy issues between officials and senior members of the CEB Engineer’s Union.

According to CEB sources, the union has been divided due to a long-running conflict of opinion due to the contradictions between the views of the CEB Electrical Engineers’ Union regarding the generation of electricity, the importation of coal and the increasing use of renewable energy sources, and the views of the new union.
