The Secretary to the Ministry of Education Prof. Kapila Perera said that a circular has been issued to provide an additional allowance of Rs. 5,000 per month to teachers.
The allowance of Rs. 5,000 will be given only to teachers who are on duty and teachers who are involved in school activities, he said.
It is essential that principals and zonal directors of education recommend the teachers or principals that teach online and be involved in their duties, he said.
