    Jaffna Med student who committed suicide searched for Counselors on the internet before Death

    Police investigations have revealed that the medical student of the Jaffna University who committed suicide by hanging herself has been accessing the internet from his mobile phone for the past few weeks and searching for information about counselors.

    Meanwhile, it has been revealed that she has even searched the internet for information about food containing cyanide poison.

    Jaffna DIG Priyantha Liyanage stated that she had been suffering from severe mental distress and as a result, it appeared that she had committed suicide.

    It is not clear what caused her stress, but the police are still investigating, he said.

    She was a 2nd-year student at the university and was 23 when she died. Her name is Thirulingam Charuka and she is a distinguished student of Uduvil Girls’ College, Jaffna. She had hanged herself in a room of her house in Kandarodidei village in the Chunnakam police division.
