Parliament convened today (06) at 10.00 am to approve the Emergency Regulations imposed by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to take action against the increase in prices by hiding stocks of essential food items including sugar and rice in the times of people are helpless due to the spread of Covid 19 virus.
The Parliament will convene under the chairmanship of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena until 4.30 pm today. The debate on the Emergency Regulations Motion is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. and the vote will take place at 4:30 p.m.
