The nurses had stopped taking samples from patients, saying it was the doctors’ duty to take samples for PCR tests and rapid antigen tests to detect the corona virus.
However, due to the spread of the covid epidemic, nurses will be taking samples of patients coming to hospitals from today, said Ven. Murutthettuwe Ananda Thera, President of the Public Service United Nurses Association.
Ven. Murutthettuwe Thera said that he hoped to force the hospital administration to get the doctors to do this and let nurses to resign from the post after the Covid pandemic.
