The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has announced that more than 500,000 tourists arrived in the country during the first two months of 2025.
In 2024, Sri Lanka welcomed 2 million foreign tourists, and the SLTDA aims to attract 3 million visitors in 2025.
Between January 1 and March 5, 2025, a total of 530,746 tourists arrived in Sri Lanka. Among them, 84,476 were Indian nationals.
Over 70,000 tourists came from Russia, while more than 50,000 arrived from the United Kingdom. Additionally, a significant number of visitors traveled from Germany, France, and China.
In the first five days of March alone, 37,768 foreign tourists entered the country.
