According to the Department of Census and Statistics, inflation in Sri Lanka has increased slightly to 2.7% in April.
According to the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI), the inflation rate of 2.5% recorded last March has increased.
The annual point inflation of the food category, which was 5.0% in March 2024, has come down to 3.3% in April 2024.
Inflation in the non-food category had risen to 2.3%. It stood at 0.7% in March.
