A singer who bought a 15-year-old girl for sex according to an advertisement posted on the internet, has been arrested by the Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureau yesterday.
The 52-year-old singer, who sings in a band, is a resident of Kandy and has been arrested in the Bandarawela area.
Police say the singer has denied the allegations against him. The singer was produced before the Hulftsdorp Magistrate’s Court today. He has been remanded till the next day.
