Professor Terrence Purasinghe, a pioneer of the leftist struggle against racism, has passed away this afternoon.
Terrence Purasinghe was 60 years old when he died while being treated at a private hospital for an emergency.
He was the Head of the Department of Political Science at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a member of the Political Bureau of the Nava Sama Samaja Party.
The last rites of Terrence Purasinghe will be performed tomorrow (7).
