Dr. Dedunu Dias has been appointed as the Acting Director of the Medical Supply Division of the Ministry of Health.
Dr. Sudath Dharmaratne has also been appointed as its Deputy Director General.
4 people from the supply department of the Ministry of Health were arrested and brought to court in connection with the incident of bringing substandard anti-coagulant medicine called Immunoglobulin into Sri Lanka.
The drug supplier Sudath Janaka Fernando was also arrested and is in remand prison.
Recently, the Criminal Investigation Department arrested the four officers, Dr. Kapila Wickramanayake, Assistant Director, Deva Shanti Solomon, Accountant (Supply) Neran Dhananjaya and Stock Controller Sujith Kumara, Director of Medical Supply Division of the Ministry of Health.
Later, the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court ordered that they be remanded until December 13.
