The government has focused on providing a part of the increased salary for government employees from next January.
Accordingly, a discussion was held in Parliament on the 23rd under the chairmanship of President Ranil Wickramasinghe regarding the provision of 5000 rupees to government employees from January.
Earlier it was proposed to give the increased amount of 10000 rupees as living expenses allowance from the month of April and to give the arrears until then in installments.
However, according to the notification given by the State Revenue Unit of the President’s Office, the expected financial situation has been met, so this kind of proposal has been presented. Accordingly, it has been proposed to give the increased allowance of Rs.2500 to the pensioners from next January.
The respective agreements will be officially notified soon.
