According to the National Board of Control of Dangerous Drugs, steps have been taken to deploy a drug prevention officer in each of the 300 regional secretariats.
Its chairman Mr. Shakhya Nanayakkara mentioned that there is a possibility of making drug prevention activities successful through this program.
Mr. Shakhya Nanayakkara said that many community building programs are being implemented at the regional secretariat level for people who are addicted to drugs.
Separate police officers will also be deployed to monitor the areas where drugs circulate more.
