Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe revealed in Parliament this morning (09) that members of the Cricket Board are trying to get 2 million dollars from the Bank of Ceylon’s Independence Square account.
The Minister of Sports revealed this during today’s parliamentary debate to take a decision regarding the dissolution of the Cricket Board, and at that time, Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, said that regardless of party differences, if possible, discuss with the President and temporarily suspend all these transactions.
The opposition leader said that this is not the time to think about laws and this is a serious incident as this is Sri Lanka’s cricket money as well as money received by the country.
Also, the opposition leader requested that the cricket governing body should find out on whose authority these actions are being carried out and this is a serious problem and not to allow such dirty work to be done.
Also, the opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa said here that Minister Roshan Ranasinghe should continue as Sports Minister and he would submit it as a proposal and pass it himself.
