In the meeting held yesterday, the President has informed the Cabinet of Ministers regarding the revision of government employee salaries and private sector salaries in the upcoming budget.
President Ranil Wickramasinghe has informed the Cabinet that he expects to submit proposals to the Parliament as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policy.
This has been discussed yesterday in the cabinet meeting regarding the increase in salaries in the public service and private sector in the budget for next year.
Government employees are also protesting these days demanding that an allowance of 20,000 rupees or salary increase be proposed in the upcoming budget.
