The government decides to amend the Motor Vehicle Act.
In implementing the proposed e-motoring project, it has been found that this Act needs to be amended.
The committee of officials appointed under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister’s Secretary to study the e-motoring project and submit recommendations to the Cabinet had previously approved the Cabinet to implement the recommendations of the report.
It has been recognized the need to amend the Motor Vehicle Act appropriately to provide interim arrangements for the implementation of the project and for related activities.
Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by the Acting Minister of Transport and Highways to instruct a draftsman to prepare a bill for that purpose.
