The Irrigation Department in Sri Lanka has withdrawn the landslide warning notice issued for the low-lying areas near the River Ging. This warning, which had been in effect since September 28, has been lifted due to the lack of significant rainfall in the River Ging basin in the past 24 hours. The water level reported from the Thavalama and Baddegama water gauges is decreasing, leading to the withdrawal of the landslide warning.
However, the department has extended the flood warning for the low-lying areas of the Nilwala River for the next 24 hours, indicating the need for continued caution in those regions.
