The former municipal commissioner of Kalmunai Municipal Council, M. Kasim Ansar was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department yesterday regarding a tax fraud.
He has been arrested as a result of an investigation based on a complaint received by the municipality regarding this fraud which has been done by changing the data of the municipality’s computer system.
The information of the Criminal Investigation Department revealed that the amount of tax money that has been defrauded is close to 10 million rupees.
