Several train journeys have been canceled this morning (12).
It was due to the strike started by the train drivers.
It is reported that more than 30 train journeys have been cancelled.
The Railway Department stated that several trains coming to Colombo from Chillaw, Ganewatta and Aluthgama have been cancelled.
Also, several short train journeys scheduled to run from Colombo have also been cancelled.
The train drivers have started a trade union action based on a salary issue.
However, it is also stated that trains were running normally in several areas.
