Mr. Maithripala Sirisena, former president and party chairman, says that he is ready to accept Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara for any other position other than the position of General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
After Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara was removed from the party membership and from the position of its General Secretary, the party headquarters located at Darley Road in Colombo was locked this morning.
The work of the party office was restarted today (06) in the afternoon under the chairmanship of Party Chairman, former President Mr. Maithripala Sirisena.
The former president also said:
“He was not removed but temporarily stopped his work.
Today there is a case in the court about removing me from the leadership. There are many other things. I don’t really like to tell their details.
He can come to the party without any problem, we will accept him.
Membership has been suspended. It can be removed at any time if we come to an agreement and if he stops his unnecessary doings.”
