The Department of Meteorology says that few rains will occur in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts.
A few places in Central, Uva and Eastern Provinces and Mullaitivu and Vavuniya districts are likely to experience showers or thunderstorms during the evening or overnight.
The rest of the island has mainly rainless weather conditions.
People are advised to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
