A young couple who were loving at the small Dunhinda Falls Reserve were robbed by two men who claimed to be from the Police Intelligence Division.
The robbery took place on May 6, but the girlfriend complained to the Badulla Police yesterday evening. The 17-year-old girlfriend has complained to the police that they chased her boyfriend away and robbed her of two gold rings, a mobile phone, and 8500 rupees in her handbag.
The girlfriend told the police that she did not come forward to complain about this to the police until now because the people who came there scared her, saying they were from the police intelligence department.
Badulla Police say that an investigation has been started regarding this robbery.
